William T. Himebaugh, Sr., 72, of Anamosa, died early Monday morning, April 26 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. William Theodore Himebaugh was born January 9, 1921 at Scotch Grove, Iowa. He was the son of Willard and Angella Rickels, Himebaugh. He received his education in the Scotch Grove area schools. William T.Himebaugh and Wilma Dirks were married February 14, 1942 at Kahoka, Missouri. The couple lived in Anamosa where Bill worked at the DX Station. He later served in the United States Army during WWII. Following his return from service, Bill was employed at the Iowa mens Reformatory. In 1973 he went to work at Kwik Way in Cedar Rapids. He retired in 1979. William was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Monticello. Bill was a member of the Anamosa American Legion. William is survived by his wife, Wilma, four children. Sandra Taylor, Forest Lake, MN; William, Jr., Lake St. Louis, Missouri; Douglas,Thousand Oakes, California; Lori Herrera, Des Moines, seven grandsons, one great-grandson, two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, three brothers and a grandchild.
