Mr. Dorsett came to Nebraska in 1905, landing at Mason City on September 5th of that year, and has resided in or near Mason City ever since. He was married to Miss Nellie Amsberry on September 24th, 1913 and settled on a farm one half mile west of Mason City where he lived until death. Mr. Dorsett's chief pride was in his herd of purebred Angus cattle. Besides running a successful farm, he did quite a lot of trucking to and from the towns around. His industrious, honest, sunny disposition made him friends wherever he went until he became one of the best and most favorable known men in the community. In early life he united with the Baptist Church in Huron, Indiana and when he came to Mason City, he brought his church letter with him and by it was received into the Mason City Baptist Church. It may be fittingly said in his passing a good and worthy citizen has gone from our community, and one that we can ill afford to spare. Mr. Dorsett's religion may be said to be summed up in Micah 6:8 - "What doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God?" Funeral services were held from the Baptist Church at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W.E. Tharp, officiating. Masonic burial services followed, and interment was in the local cemetery."
