The son of the late John Brade and Mary Ellie Robertson Briscoe, he was born December 26, 1902 in Ellsberry, MO., He had been a resident of Keokuk for the past 35 years. He married Doris Biddenstadt on May 5, 1945 in Kahoka, MO., and she survives. Mr Briscoe was employed at the Hubinger Co. from September 1943 until his retirement on January 1, 1968. He was a member of the First Christian Church and Past Master of Eagle Lodge No. 12. AF & AM, Gate City Chapter No. 7, Royal Arch Mason of Iowa, Damascus Commander, No. 5 Knights Templar, Keokuk Fez club and Kasba Temple, Davenport, Iowa. He is survived besides his wife by four sons John, Keokuk; Timothy, US Navy, San Diego; Gary, Keokuk, and William, Omaha, Neb.; four daughters Mrs. Jon (Judy) Fromi, Freeport, IL., Mrs. David (Jeri) Brownlee, Warsaw, IL., Mrs. LeRoy (Betty) Adams, San Jose, Calif., and Lora Ellie Briscoe at home.Two brothers Lyle and Frank Briscoe both of Foley, MO., three sisters, Mrs Blanche Colbert, Foley, MO. Mrs George (Lucille) Stonebraker, Foley; and Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Foster, Grand View, Kans; 11 grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was prceded in death by one brother James Clifford Briscoe. services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Schmidt memorial Home with the Rev. Ellsworth L. Woods officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A Masonic service will be held at 7 P.m. Thursday athe the Schmidt Memorial Home.
