Mr. Rogerson was born in Williamsburg County near Andrews on August 2, 1917, a son of the late Lexious Algernon Rogerson and Isabel Clemons Rogerson. Read More	WILLIAM ROGERSON William Wallie Rogerson, 83, of Georgetown and Ocean Isle Beach, NC, died Thursday, May 31, 2001 at a local hospital in Charleston. Mr. Rogerson was born in Williamsburg County near Andrews on August 2, 1917, a son of the late Lexious Algernon Rogerson and Isabel Clemons Rogerson. He attended Andrews High School and Louisburg College. Mr. Rogerson served in the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Rogerson and his wife, Roberta, were the founders and owners of the Georgetown Canada Dry Bottling Company. During their business careers, the Rogerson franchise of Canada Dry was expanded to include the entire state of SC as well as portions of NC and GA. Mr. Rogerson was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church for over sixty years and served on the administrative board and in various other leadership positions. He also served as a Boy Scout leader. Mr. Rogerson was a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Georgetown. At his death, he was the oldest living member and member with the longest service of the Rotary Club. Mr. Rogerson was also a member of the Winyah Indigo Society and an honorary member of the Cotillion Club of Georgetown. Surviving are: his wife of 63 years, Roberta Howle Rogerson of Georgetown and Ocean Isle Beach; three sons, Robert William Rogerson of the Isle of Palms, Donald Kent Rogerson and his wife, Carolyne of Georgetown, and Laurice Keith Rogerson and his wife, Linda of the Isle of Palms; a sister, Dorothy Rogerson Newsom of Wilmington, NC, a brother, Robert Clemons Rogerson of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be Saturday afternoon at four o'clock in Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Phillip C. Thrailkill. The family suggests memorials to Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, 901 Highmarket St., Georgetown, SC 29440 or the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. N., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. The Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
