Description	:	The Tipton Conservative November 10, 1897. DIED. WALTERS-William Walters, late of Buchanan, was born in Center Co., Pa., Feb. 22, 1818, and died Nov. 5, 1897, in his eightieth year. When a young man he settled in Ohio, where he made the acquaintance of, and married, Miss Martha Ann Bair, who died in 1867. They had ten children born to them-four girls and six boys-all of whom are living but one son. When a young man he settled in Ohio, where he made the acquaintance of, and married, Miss Martha Ann Bair, who died in 1867. They had ten children born to them-four girls and six boys-all of whom are living but one son. In 1842 Father Walters came to Iowa and settled on the farm where he contentedly remained till his death, for a period of over fifty-five years. He was firm in his way of doing things, meaning in the outcome to be all for the best. He was much interested in and contributed to the new church erected in his town; was present at its dedication a few weeks ago and was the first one for whom funeral services were conducted after its completion. He was rational to the last. A very large congregation attended his funeral and burial services, showing the kindly feeling and respect they held toward one who had mingled with them for more than a half century.
