Read More	The Iola Register Wednesday Evening, February 16, 1949 p3 col 4 Obituary Willie Warren Wallace was born at Calmine, Wis., Nov. 7, 1868 and died at his home at Geneva, Kas., Feb. 10, 1949, at the age of 80 years and 3 months. While still a young boy he moved with his parents from Wisconsin to Judsonia, Ark., where he grew to manhood. It was here he became a member of the First Baptist church. He transferred his membership to the First Baptist church in Iola, Kas. Due to ill health he was unable to attend church services the past few years, but spent much time in the study of the Bible. On Oct. 9, 1895, he was married to Mary Ellen McQuigg at Geneva, Kas., where he spent most of his later life. To this union six children were born, five of whom survive their father: Earnest Leon Wallace of Ames, Iowa, Homer Harold Wallace of Geneva, Kas., Mrs. Hazel Bedenbender of Geneva, Kas., Miss Edith May Wallace of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Dorothy Dean of Rifle, Colo. Other survivors include eight grandchildren and two nieces and two nephews of Little Rock, Ark. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen, who died Dec. 8, 1923 and by his youngest son. Leonard Lee Wallace, who died as a result of a mine accident, Nov. 7, 1935. He was a kind and loving father, a good neighbor and friend. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. His wish was that we might all be united in Heaven. "Oh how sweet it will be in that beautiful land. So free from all sorrow and pain. With songs on our lips and with harps in our hands, To meet one another again."
