Tapscott who passed away at his home here Tuesday evening, Mar. 2nd, following a lingering illness, were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the Lutheran church. William Wesley Tapacott was born August 11,1865 in Springfield, Ill., and died March 2, 1937 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 21 days. William Wesley Tapacott was born August 11,1865 in Springfield, Ill., and died March 2, 1937 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 21 days. He came to Gilmore City in 1892 and in 1896 was married to Miss. Gesena Martens at Pocahontas. To this union seven children were born, 3 sons and 4 daughters, who with their mother are left to mourn his passing. The children are: Clarence and Edward J. of Mason City; Mrs. J. V. Paulsen of Melcher; Jesse of Newland, Conn; Mrs. Louis F. Gray of Valley Junction; Mrs. Harold Madsen of Des Moines and Clara at home. He is also survived by one brother, and one sister in Illinois and eight grandchildren. He was a member of the First Lutheran church, uniting with the church in 1930 during the pastorate of Rev. A. J. Seegers. Services were in charge of the former pastor Rev. A. J. Seegers, assisted by Rev. A. G. Schardt. Burial was in Marble Valley cemetery. Six nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearers.
