Description	:	OBITUARY William Wilcox died at his home in Bloomfield Thursday evening, November 2, 1916, at 7 o'clock p.m. For about three weeks he had been suffering with neuralgia of the heart. From the beginning of his sickness he spoke to his family and friends of the seriousness of his afflictions. His death came at the close of a severe attack. Read More	OBITUARY William Wilcox died at his home in Bloomfield Thursday evening, November 2, 1916, at 7 o'clock p.m. For about three weeks he had been suffering with neuralgia of the heart. From the beginning of his sickness he spoke to his family and friends of the seriousness of his afflictions. His death came at the close of a severe attack. The deceased was born in Wyacondah township February 3, 1848, and was 68 years, 8 months and 29 days old. He was married to Helen Tharp November 16, 1869. To this union 5 children were born, Elmer E., died at the age of 18 months; four children with mother survive, James Wilcox, Mattie Ayrs, Eva Wood and Mamie Martin, with three grandchildren, Hubert, Harold and Lena Wilcox, all of whom were with him during his last sickness. Father Wilcox was the son of Jas. and Ann Wilcox, who settled in Davis county in 1841, and was one of the early pioneers. These good people raised a family of nine children, all of whom have been known as honest, upright citizens. In 1871 he united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Mount Moriah, and afterwards transferred his membership to the M. E. church at Wesley Chapel, where he was a faithful member until about a year ago when he moved to Bloomfield. He loved his church, and was a faithful attendant at prayer meeting, Sunday school and public worship. He could truly say "I know that my redeemer liveth," and with undying faith he looked forward to the fulfillment of the promise of his Saviour, who said "in my Father's House are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you." As the Spirit of this good, warm hearted Christian man, began to gather up the robes of immortality, he said to his family, "I am not afraid of death," and with his Spiritual face set toward the cross he had borne for his Lord and Saviour for many years he passed peacefully to his reward. Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church Saturday morning at 11 o'clock by Revs. E. J. Shook and H. B. Scoles. Interment in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. Those from out of town who attended the funeral: Mrs. Margaret Miller, Mrs. Sarah Umphres, Mrs. Fred Van San, all of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Tharpe, of Wahoo, Neb., W. S.
