Description	:	James Israel Wilcockson was a son of Mary Ann (née Dooley) and James Wilcockson, and a grandson of Israel Wilcockson. The family moved from Boone County, Missouri, to Iowa Territory in 1841, settling in what would become Wyacondah Township, Davis County, where James Israel was born. His maternal grandfather and uncle, Henry and Jesse Dooley, were township entrymen. James I. Wilcockson and Martha J. Smith were married on 22 October 1865 in Davis County, Iowa.
