Was born in Suffolk County, England. Despite the Severe Weather, the Baptist Church at Mineral Ridge Was Completely Filled For the Last Service. The funeral of William Wilson was held at the Mineral Ridge Baptist Church Friday, Dec. 5th, 1919. Prof. S. P. Fogdall of Des Moines College, conducted the services. In spite of the large amount of snow and cold weather, the church was well filled. LIFE SKETCH William Wilson was born February 21, 1841, in Suffolk County, England and passed away at his home in Mineral Ridge, Iowa, Dec. 2, 1919, being at the time of his death 78 years, 9 months and 11 days of age. He came to this country with his parents at the age of thirteen years, coming direct to Boone County and has been a resident of this county ever since with the exception of the time he spent in service to his country. He was a veteran of the civil war, having enlisted with company F, Thirteenth Iowa volunteer infantry in the year of 1862, with which he served until the close of the war when he was honorable discharged. In 1866 Mr Wilson was married to Miss Nancy Richardson, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Richardson, who passed away six years later at the age of twenty-eight. He was united in marriage February 9, 1874 to Catherine Fallein. To this union were born eleven children of whom five sons and four daughters with the widow survive to mourn the loss of a kind loving father and husband, the children living are Lewis, William, Frank, Walter, Mrs. C.L. Pollard, Mrs Ralph Buechler and Mrs Charles Buechler, all of near Mineral Ridge, Ia., and Clarence of Murdo, S. Dak.; Mrs W.F. Wallace of Orchard, Ia. The two preceding him in death were Arthur and Mrs. V. E. Hannum, also one step-daughter, Mrs P.O. Olson. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, 37 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. He was united with the Baptist church of Mineral Ridge eighteen years ago and has been a true and faithful member. Farewell, dear father, sweet thy rest; Weary with years and worn with pain.
