Description	:	Willie Hubert Davis, 68, of Williamsport, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was born in Albany, KY on July 13, 1947. He was the son of the late James Robert and Ova Glenna (Massengale) Davis. He later moved to Warren County and had lived there all of his adult life. Willie worked as a tree trimmer for Townsend Tree services. He had worked for Merle Miller in Lafayette; Rowe Trucking in Otterbein and for Harold O'Neal in Danville, IL. He was born in Albany, KY on July 13, 1947. He was the son of the late James Robert and Ova Glenna (Massengale) Davis. He later moved to Warren County and had lived there all of his adult life. Willie worked as a tree trimmer for Townsend Tree services. He had worked for Merle Miller in Lafayette; Rowe Trucking in Otterbein and for Harold O'Neal in Danville, IL. He also had owned and operated "Double D" Truck & Trailer Repair in Lafayette, where he worked as a diesel mechanic. He retired from "Double D" due to his health. Willie honorably served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a private first class. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 259 of Williamsport. He was a fan of NASCAR with Jeff Gordon as his favorite driver. He enjoyed drag racing in Terre Haute. He loved to be outdoors hunting and picking mushrooms. On June 28, 1969, Willie married Charlene Jernagan in New Castle. He leaves behind his wife; one son; three daughters; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister. He was preceded in death by two infant sons; five brothers, Ross, Leroy, Clarence, Carl and Ira Davis; and one sister, Irene Wright. Services were held at Maus Funeral Home, Attica on July 7, 2016 at 10 AM with Pastor Cathy McCoy officiating. Burial with military honors was held in the Jordan Cemetery, Pence.
