Willis was born on November 9, 1918 to the late Oscar and Ollie (Woody) Gilbert in Timbo, Arkansas. Willis was a veteran of the United States Army and served his county in World War II. Gilbert and his wife Sally of Mountain View, Arkansas; one brother, Hoover Gilbert and wife Olene of Mountain View, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Jason H. Gilbert and wife Kalie and Sarah M. Gilbert; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Landry Gilbert. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ollie (Woody) Gilbert; wife, Netta J. Gilbert; grandson, Christopher Gilbert; four brothers, and two sisters. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, 10:00AM, at Timbo Cemetery in Timbo, Arkansas officiated by Tommy Williams.
