Wilma was born on Oct. 23, 1909, to Christian J. and Carrie Gutenkunst Koch at Eustis, where she grew up. When she was younger she moved to Lincoln to work as a housekeeper and nanny for a doctor. Read More	Wilma Louise White Oct 23,1909-April 2,2011 Wilma Louise White, 101, of North Platte, died April 21, 2011, at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte. Wilma was born on Oct. 23, 1909, to Christian J. and Carrie Gutenkunst Koch at Eustis, where she grew up. When she was younger she moved to Lincoln to work as a housekeeper and nanny for a doctor. She and her sister, Rose, went to the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago, Ill., and enjoyed their adventure. Wilma later went to work in Wyoming. On Sept. 18, 1937, Wilma married Albert Edward White at Eustis. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Hershey, where they farmed. In 1952 they moved to North Platte. She worked at Fairmont Foods in the Ice Cream Dept. for several years before going to work at Madison Junior High School as a cook. She retired at the age of 67 and she and Albert went to Texas to winter until Albert's health failed. Wilma was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Eustis and was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Platte and Lydia's Circle. She loved to garden, care for her flowers and bake. She and Albert enjoyed camping and having their grandkids with them. Wilma is survived by a daughter, Janice Anderson, of Charleston, S.C.; a son, Floyd Sr. (Karen Sue) White, of Rapid City, S.D.; seven grandchildren, Kathryn (Todd) Brown, Floyd Jr. (Shannon) White, Alan (Amy) White and Rosalee (Sean) Pacheco, all of North Platte, Barbara (Raul) Mangual, of Houston, Texas, Lisa (Bob) Newman, of Charleston, S.C., and Breck (Angela) Anderson, of Austin, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Daniel, Maranda, Justin, Heather, Cierra, Collin, Tyler, Kayla, Abby, Elle, Alarie, Quade, Shanae and Hunter; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Brockmeier, of Lexington, and Elsie Travis, of Kearney; a brother, Rudy Koch, of Grand Island; numerous nieces, nephews and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; her parents; an infant son; a son-in-law, Edward Anderson; her sister, Rose Schurr; and two brothers, Ernest and Lorenz Koch. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Marcia Dorn officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore. Memorials are suggested to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church or the .
