Keane of Davey, Nebraska March 8, 1927 - January 27, 2019 Wilma M. Keane, 91 of Davey, passed away January 27, 2019, surrounded by her family. Wilma was born on March 8, 1927, to Lale and Blanche (Smith) Drake on a farm near Humboldt, NE. She graduated from Humboldt High School and received her Normal Training and taught at several Nebraska school districts. She married Joe Keane on August 18, 1949, in Davey, NE., and six children were born to this union. She was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Davey and was involved in Altar Society and CCD. Wilma enjoyed being in women’s extension clubs and was involved in 4-H, being a leader for many of those years and helped her clubs chart new paths in Lancaster County 4-H. Wilma is survived by her six children: Cathy Keane of Dwight, NE; Susan Keane of Davey, NE; Mary (Tom) Chalupsky of Colorado Springs, CO; Pat Keane of Lincoln, NE; Michele (Curt) Nelson of Seward, NE; Kelly (Bird) Pokorny of Bladen, NE; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; A brother Ralph (Julie) Drake of Berthoud, CO Sister in law Ruth Drake of Humboldt, NE; Brother in law Dwight Theobald of Red Cloud, NE; Numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Keane, parents Blanche and Lale Drake, sister Dorothy Massey and brother Wayne Drake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Davey. Burial will be at St Patrick’s and St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Davey. Visitation will be on Friday, from 12 noon to 8 pm, with family receiving friends from 5 pm to 7 pm, at Butherus Maser and Love funeral home, 4040 A St, Lincoln. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
