Description	:	OLDTOWN – Wilma “Maxine” Crabtree, 82, of Oldtown, MD, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Portsmouth, VA. Born October 16, 1937, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Russell and Carrie Pauline (Alderton) Crabtree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Estel Crabtree, Sr.; brothers, Edward, Jim, Buck, and Jack; sisters, Pauline, Babe, Rose, and Toots; son-in-law, Jason Bolinger. Read More	OLDTOWN – Wilma “Maxine” Crabtree, 82, of Oldtown, MD, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Portsmouth, VA. Born October 16, 1937, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Russell and Carrie Pauline (Alderton) Crabtree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Estel Crabtree, Sr.; brothers, Edward, Jim, Buck, and Jack; sisters, Pauline, Babe, Rose, and Toots; son-in-law, Jason Bolinger. Maxine was a 1955 graduate of Oldtown High School. She worked many summers as a cook at Camp Potomac, and eventually retired from New Dominion. Maxine was a lifetime member of the Oldtown Fire Department Auxiliary and was even awarded “Fire Lady of the Year” in 2019. She was also active in the Cub Scouts, receiving both the Silver Beaver and Wood Badge, and was a member of Oldtown United Methodist Church. Maxine loved reading Amish books, working word searches, and solving Sudoku puzzles. She also enjoyed canning many vegetables from the farm. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will dearly miss her. Surviving are her children, Royce Crabtree, Jr. and wife, Cindy, Oldtown, Kevin Crabtree, Sr. and wife, Diana, Oldtown, Melissa Bolinger, Portsmouth, VA, and Mark Crabtree, Sr. and wife, Heather, Oldtown; sisters, Nellie Rader, Oldtown, and JoAnn Allen, Cumberland; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, from 6 to 8 pm and on Thursday, February 6, 2020, from 2 to 4 p.m., as well as from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, February 7, 2020, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Charles Riggleman and Rev. Carolyn Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Maxine’s grandsons. Condolences may be left at www.ScarpelliFH.com.
