Description	:	Wilma Maxine (Vieman) Mannetter was born on February 1, 1921 on the family farm northwest of Hubbard. She was the eldest child born to Cleon and Hattie (Hoyt) Vieman. She received her education primarily at the Eldora Public School graduating from there in 1939. Upon graduation she went to UNI and took "Normal Training" which was to prepare her to teach school. Read More	Wilma Maxine (Vieman) Mannetter was born on February 1, 1921 on the family farm northwest of Hubbard. She was the eldest child born to Cleon and Hattie (Hoyt) Vieman. She received her education primarily at the Eldora Public School graduating from there in 1939. Upon graduation she went to UNI and took "Normal Training" which was to prepare her to teach school. Following that she was hired to teach at Tipton Country School, which she did for 2 years before she accepted a position teaching at Hubbard Public school. She taught there for just a short time before moving to Cedar Rapids and working for Collins Radio. On July 15, 1941, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Gustav Mannetter at the Courthouse in Alexandria, Louisiana where Gilbert was taking Basic Training before he shipped out to serve our country in WWII. He returned in May 1945, when Gilbert joined his father in farming, which was the start of a lifetime of farming! Wilma was not only a farmer's wife, but over the years she did a variety of different things, which include seamstress work at Dodger Gym in Eldora, Homemaker Health Aide work, and volunteering for Hospice. Wilma and Gilbert were blessed with three children: John, Jeanne, and Jody. Wilma loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother! She was a wonderful cook and baker, which her family and friends were always the recipients of. Reading, sewing, needlework, flower & vegetable gardening, and playing cards were some of her other favorite things to do; as well as camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting! Most of her life she had been a very active member of Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard; however in the later years of her life she became a member of Faith Evangelical Church in Radcliffe. She loved to worship and learn more about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! At the age of 90 she could still be found studying her Sunday School lesson late on Saturday evening to be prepared for class! Wilma passed away unexpectedly at the Hubbard Care Center on Monday morning, January 28, 2013 where she had been a resident since December 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert, her parents, brothers Wayne and Lowell, sister Winona Tordoff and Hazel McBride, brothers-in-law Ed Tordoff and Dale "Bud" Landt, and sister-in-law Wilma Vieman. She will forever be remembered by her beloved and devoted children; John (Deb) of Sundance, WY, Jeanne (Allan) Larson of Littleton, CO, and Jody (Janice) of Hubbard, IA, loving grandchildren: John (Mindy) Catlin of Arvada, CO, Jennifer (J.W.) Stamison of Gill, CO, Angela (Martin) Steiner of Hubbard, IA, Alysa (Casey) Tenke of Sundance, WY, Wade (Prairie) Mannetter of Wibaux, MT, and Erica (Georgie) Filber of Oskaloosa, IA and her precious great-grandchildren: Justin & Shane Tenke, Adelita Mannetter, Tanner Catlin, John & Nicholas Stamison, Nolen, Gabriel, Olivia & Piper Steiner, and George William Filber V (Will).
