Description	:	Having battled cancer since 1996, Wilmer Sinning died at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000. He attained the age of 89 years and eight months. Wilmer Lawrence Sinning was born on a farm south of Lennox on May 20, 1910, a son of Harry A. and Swanetta (Lubbers) Sinning. He grew to manhood in this area and attended rural school. Read More	Having battled cancer since 1996, Wilmer Sinning died at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000. He attained the age of 89 years and eight months. Wilmer Lawrence Sinning was born on a farm south of Lennox on May 20, 1910, a son of Harry A. and Swanetta (Lubbers) Sinning. He grew to manhood in this area and attended rural school. On Nov. 19, 1931 he was united in marriage to Rena Harms at Turner County First Presbyterian Church. The couple lived on a farm south of Lennox for one and a half years before moving to the home farm four miles east of Davis. They retired from farming and moved into Lennox on Jan. 7, 1970. Mr. Sinning then worked as a carpenter for Great Plains Lumber for five years and was self-employed after that. His death ended a marriage of over 68 years. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Sinning on Aug. 14, 1996; one sister Ila Oltmanns on Apr. 13, 1997; and one son-in-law, Eugene Fischer, on Aug. 22, 1986. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Rena; one daughter, Evelyn Haugen and her husband, Elmer Jr. of Dell Rapids, SD; one grandson, Kevin Fischer of Worthing; one granddaughter, Beverly Ness and her husband, John, of rural Lennox; and one great-granddaughter.
