Lower, 83, 4546 Fairfield School Road died Thursday, Dec. 12 at Salem Community Hospital at 7:05 p.m. following a short illness. He was born May 28, 1908 in Fairfield Township the son of Francis Marion and Ella Derringer Lower. He was a life-long local resident. He retired in 1971 as head of the engineering department at NRM in Columbiana. He had worked there for 32 years. After retirement he worked on his son's farm for 20 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana where he served as Sunday school superintendent for 25 years. He also served as church trustee and on the pastor-parrish committee and several other offices in the church. He had been a member of the Fairfield Ruritan Club for 18 years. He leaves his wife, the former Martha M Luplow whom he married April 10, 1937, two sons, Paul and Wilmer both of Leetonia, a sister Mrs Floyd Anna Albright of Leetonia and five grandchildren. Calling hours are Sunday 7 to 9 p.m. at the Seederly, Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. with Dr. Ronald L. Huff and Rev. Myrle Gephart officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
