Emory Byrd, who died in a Baltimore Hospital at an early hour Friday morning, June 3, were held at Asbury Church Sunday afternoon and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. T. J. Sard. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Byrd was highly esteemed for her many fine qualities of womanhood. Being born and reared in this community, she was beloved by a large circle of friends, who were grieved at her death, following a short illness, at such an early age, she being on the threshold of her thirty-sixth birthday when the summons came. Before moving to Baltimore, Mrs. Byrd was a member of Asbury Church and while she took an active part in church affairs in her adopted city, she continued her membership in the old home church. The funeral was largely attended and this, together with the large floral tribute, was an evidence of the esteem in which the deceased was held.
