Description	:	Wylene J. Hostler, age 84, of Tipton, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, in her home in Tipton, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Noon to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. A general memorial fund has been established in her memory. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. Scott Meyer officiating. Wylene Joyce Paustian was born November 8, 1935, in New Liberty, the daughter of Herman and Wilma (Edler) Paustian. She graduated from Bennett High School in 1953. She married Lawrence Joseph Hostler on November 6, 1955, in Tipton. She was employed for many years as a Food Service Technician, cook, and worked at the Tipton School and the Tipton Dairy Queen. She also assisted Margaret Johnston to prepare and serve meals for many funeral luncheons at Fry Funeral Home. Lawrence preceded her in death on July 30, 2019. She was a member of the Tipton United Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a lady of character, honesty and one who was never afraid of any challenge or hard work. Surviving are her one daughter, Connie (Timothy) Marolf of Moscow; one son, James (Vera) Hostler of Sedona, AZ; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dallas Paustian of Anamosa and Dennis Paustian of Walcott. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Norma Riedesel. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Iowa City Hospice for their care given to both Wylene and Larry.
