Description	:	Yvonne Emma Dostie Farris (Gram) of China went to join our Lord, peacefully in her sleep at her farm on Friday, December 1, 2006. She was born in Winslow on September 5, 1908 the daughter of Edmond and Georgianna Dostie. Yvonne was a member of the Silver Lake Grange, attended China Baptist Church, and was a member of the Margaret Stotsenburgh bible study. Yvonne was the holder of the Boston Post Cane as the oldest resident of China. She loved her vegetable and flower gardens (especially tomatoes), her wild birds, and all children. She was born in Winslow on September 5, 1908 the daughter of Edmond and Georgianna Dostie. Yvonne was a member of the Silver Lake Grange, attended China Baptist Church, and was a member of the Margaret Stotsenburgh bible study. She was predeceased by her husband, Merlon Farris; two brothers, Leo and Wolfred Dostie; three sisters, Grace and Stella Drummond, and Iola Goodrich; one grandson, Camron I. Farris; and best friends, Arlene McCaslin and Arlene McKeil. Yvonne will be sadly missed by three sons, Carl Farris and his wife, Phyllis of China, Nelson Farris and his wife, Sharon of China, and Earl Farris and his wife, Carol of Augusta; sister-in-law, Mary LaCroix and her husband, Lucian of Waterville; 11 grandchildren, Jacqueline Lee Farris of Caribou, Shane Farris and his wife, Julie of Jonesport, Shannon Powell and her husband, Myron of Caribou, John Proulx and his wife, Michelle of Hampton, VA, Libby Furrow and her husband, Jim of Belgrade, Lilly-Ann Bickford and her husband, Dwayne of Belgrade, Ron Farris of Lewiston, Tim Farris and his wife, Bopah of Scarborough, Roxann Lizzotte and her husband, Tim of China, Lindsay Weirich and her husband, Jason of Bangor, and Bryan Farris of China; 13 great-grandchildren, Landon Farris, Brooklyn and Braxton Powell, Shane Camron Farris, Joanna Farris, Bradley and Nathan Bickford, Terrie J. Farris, James Nelson Furrow, Dakota and Ungara Farris, and Jackson, Mazy, and Lila Weirich; step-granddaughters, Sarah Lizzotte and Karen Harrington; and step-great-great-granddaughter, Adalia Harrington. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. Funeral services will take place at 11 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at China Baptist Church, China, Maine with Rev Ron Morrell officiating. Burial will follow at China Village Cemetery.
