Interment was made in the Mason City Cemetery with Eastern Star burial services. Mrs. Duke, the daughter of John A. Amsberry and Mary Buckley Amsberry, was born June 11th, 1880 at Mason City. She was a life-long resident of Custer County. She attended Mason City schools and was one of the early graduates of the high school. She continued her education at Grand Island Baptist College where she majored in music. On August 23rd, 1903, she married Raymond H. Duke. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mason City and was the oldest member. She also was the church organist and choir leader for many years. She was a member of the Women's Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and Mason City Lodge 287, Order of the Eastern Star. She was the secretary of the lodge for many years. Survivors are her son, Ferris R. Duke, and a nephew, John A. Amsberry of Mason City. She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Merle M. (Grace) Duke Runyan of Broken Bow."
