Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Paul Albenesius officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. O'Shaughnessy was born March 22, 1925, in Dakota City, Neb., the daughter of William and Florence (Hansen) Sanford. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1944. She married Edward O'Shaughnessy on Oct. 23, 1945, in Longview, Texas. The couple was married for 56 years. She was a charter member of the South Sioux City Firefighters Auxiliary and a charter member of the Dakota County Historical Society. She enjoyed doll collecting and antiquing. Her family was the center of her life. Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, William and Carla of San Jose, Calif., and Patrick and Elaine of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter and her husband, Donna and Lloyd Cain of South Sioux City; a brother, George Sanford of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister and her husband, Theresa and Daryl Johnson of Onawa, Iowa; six grandchildren, Michael, Angie, Christy and Cathy O'Shaughnessy, Sandra Mammen and Dan Thomas; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Harriet Buser, Mary Ann Church and Helen Collins. Pallbearers will be Larry Grove, Dick McNear, Robert Collins, Cecil Church, and Leon and Randy Jessen. Sioux City Journal
