Just a little more than a month ago Zeta seemed to all who knew her a picture of perfect health. Even then tubercular trouble was making ravages of the liver. Suddenly the effect of the hidden disease appeared in the form of dropsy. Before the seat of the trouble was discovered by surgery the disease had made such an advance, that it could not be stayed. Zeta Dodgson was a good girl. She had many friends, especially in the public school where she was a faithful student. Her youth, holding so bright a promise, and the sorrow of her widow mother, have deeply touched the heart of the community. The Tribune joins the many friends of the family in an expression of sympathy. We know the sorrow of bereavement. Zeta Dodgson was born in Estherville, Iowa February 19, 1894. While yet a very little child her mother moved her home to this city. Her she grew into womanhood. In the home broken by her going, there remains her mother, her brother Earl, who is fourteen years of age, and her grandmother Mrs. Wells. The funeral was held on last Sunday afternoon in the Congregational church of which she had been a member for nearly five years. The attendance was unusually large, every foot of standing room in parlors, gallery and vestibules being occupied. The following young men from the High School were the active pall bearers: Messrs. Harry Van Gorden, William Ketchen, John Pfiffner, Bernard Kelly, Ralph Moses and Keith Gowans. The honorary pall bearers were the following your women from the high school: The Misses Bessie Ketchen, Margaret Middleton, Margaret and Jean Gowans, Eva Whirry and Bernice Briggs. The body was buried in Evergreen cemetery. Those outside of this city who attended the funeral were Mrs. L.L. Druley, Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Wells, Charles Stedman of Estherville. Mrs. Fred Bronson of Watertown, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Perry and daughter Dorear of Fairmont and Mrs. George Williams of Cedar Rapids. Source: Emmetsburg Palo Also Tribune March 11, 1912
