She was born on December 30, 1894 at Mathias and was a daughter of the late Isaac and Rebecca See Bowman. She had lived in Mathias most of her life and was a member of Garrett's Chapel United Methodist Church there. She was the widow of James Caplinger. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Bonson of Broadway and Mrs. Wilda Strawderman of Winchester, a son, Gerald Caplinger of Timberville, a sister, Mrs. Mary Shickle of Dayton, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garrett's Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Luther Smith and the Rev. Wendell Mathias.
