She had been living with a daughter, Judy Abrams, and her husband Don in La Habra, Calif., for the past four years. She and her husband, Vern were long-time residents of Box Butte County. Read More	Zora Marsh, 102 Jan 28, 1900-March 7, 2002 Zora Marsh, 102, formerly of Alliance, died March 7, 2002. She had been living with a daughter, Judy Abrams, and her husband Don in La Habra, Calif., for the past four years. She and her husband, Vern were long-time residents of Box Butte County. They lived sixteen miles northwest of Alliance where they farmed and ranched for 48 years. They retired in 1975 and moved into Alliance. Her husband Vern preceded her in death in 1980. Following his death, she traveled back and forth to La Habra each year to spend the winters with family living in California. She was born Zora Richardson January 28, 1900, in Heber Springs, Ark. She was married to Vern Marsh on Dec. 23, 1922. After surviving a disastrous flood in Arkansas, they moved to Box Butte County along with their three children. Here they went through many hardships, including the depression, drought, dust storms, grasshoppers, low crop prices, and were stranded on the farm for six weeks during the 1949 blizzard. Their daughter Hope, dropped supplies to them by plane for the duration of the blizzard. Funeral services will be at the Bates-Gould Chapel. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
