Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 2, 1975, at the Third Reformed Church in Pella with the Rev. Kenneth Dykstra officiating. Garden Chapel Funeral Home handled arrangements. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Verlan Dykstra, Rodney Dykstra, Kenneth Dykstra, Loren Dykstra, Edwin Vander Linden and Mark Erickson. At the time of her death, Zwannetta was survived by three sons, Elmer and Paul Dykstra of Pella, Jerald Dykstra of Monroe; two daughters, Viola Dykstra Vander Linden of Pella, and Bernice Dykstra Erickson of Des Moines; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Peter Vissscher of Oskaloosa, Iowa. Zwananetta was preceded in death by her husband Peter John Dykstra, one infant son, one sister, Annie Visscher Ten Hagen; one great-grandson, and her parents, John and Hendrika Overbergen Visscher; Zwannetta (Swaanett) Visscher, the second child of John and Hendrika (Rika) Overbergen Visscher, was born Dec 16, 1892 on a farm east of Pella, Marion County, Iowa. On Feb 26, 1913, Zwannetta Visscher, age 20, married Peter John Dykstra, age 26. Peter, the youngest child of Jan Petrus and Paulina Gerrits Ruisch Dijkstra was born in Oostrum, Friesland, Netherlands on Feb 23, 1887. Zwannetta and Pete had six children. An infant stillborn son, Elmer, Viola Ruth, Paul Edward, Jerald Raymond and Bernice Mae. Zwannetta lived her entire life in the Pella, Marion County, IA area and was a member of the Third Reformed Church of Pella.
