Description	:	Lincoln County established a poor farm in late 1895 to house indigent residents. Usually the inmates were elderly as well, but not always. The intent of the farm was to provide a place to live but that to make the institution somewhat self-supporting; in other words, it really was a working farm to some extent, and the residents grew their own food and took care of the premises. The Poor Farm was closed in early 1962.
