The original congregation of this church were freed African American slaves and their children. Some of the surnames found here are Boswell, Thompson, Cooley, Thomas, Hough, Faison, Wiggins, Lewis, McGowan, Pierson, and Pritchett. The graves generally run in family plots, in straight lines, according to the year of death. Also found here are several veterans of WWI that served in the 157 Depot brigade, 160 Depot brigade, 153 Depot brigade, 814 Pioneer infantry, and the 825 QM Fun & Bath...
