Description	:	The cemetery area was purchased by the Jewish Community of Lechenich in 1892 due to the fact that the old Jewish Cemetery did not provide further space for burials (also see the "Old Jewish Cemetery" in (Erftstadt-) Lechenich). The oldest gravestone (Mazewa) was erected for Wolf Simon who passed away in 1897. The "new cemetery" has 31 graves and saw its last interment in 1940. Due to the fact that the cemetery was used as farmland during the Nazi regime (1933-1945), the tombstones were removed in the 1940s, however returned after World War II. The memorials are...
