Description : The Church of Our Lady of Sorrows in Tuły (German: Thule) was built in 1853. The initiative for its construction was made by Eduard von Blach during a pilgrimage to Rome. Blach, whose marriage had produced three daughters and two stillborn sons, promised to build a church in his home village in exchange for the birth of a healthy boy. When his son Eduard was born in 1847, Blach began drawing up plans for the promised church, but they were delayed by the Revolutions of 1848.
