Description	:	James Edwin McClain, Sr., 89, husband of the late Barbara Ann Kilgore McClain, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Isaac Fleetwood and Laura Creamer McClain. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a First Sergeant. Ed was a farmer and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was a lifelong member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Isaac Fleetwood and Laura Creamer McClain. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a First Sergeant. Ed was a farmer and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was a lifelong member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Jamie McClain; three daughters, Brenda McClain, Linda McCall (David), and Renee Morris; six grandchildren, Mindy Chastain, Justin McCall, Evan McCall, Landon McCall (Tiffany),Tara Morris, and Jesse Morris; four great granddaughters; and a brother, Fleet McClain, Jr. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Buris Schumpert. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, at New Prospect Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Tony Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Friday at the church. The family will be at the residence.
