Read More	Mudgett - In Akron, Iowa, March 28, 1900, Mrs. David Mudgett, of consumption, aged 72 years and 11 days. Thus passed peacefully away, while sitting in her favorite rocking-chair and surrounded by immediate members of the family, one of Akron's oldest residents, after many weeks of untold suffering. Abbie Carpenter was .born in the state of Rhode Island, March 17,1828, and came, west to Wisconsin with her parents. She was married to David Mudgett at Wakesha, Wis,, on November 11,1852. They removed to this part of the country in 1869 and settled on the Broken Kettle, about ten miles northwest of Sioux City. In 1873 they came to Akron and have since resided here. To them were born ten children, eight of whom are living—David, residing a few miles west of town; Abram, of Grant Center, Iowa; Abbie (Mrs., S.A. Waterbury), of Akron; Hiram, of White Lake, S.D.; Dora (Mrs. M.W. Smith), of Akron; Almira (Mrs. James Muir), of Sioux City; Della (Mrs. Fickllin), of Sioux City, and Myron, of Akron. Henry Carpenter, a brother of the deceased, lives near Big Springs, S.D, another brother, Emery, in Illinois, a sister at Oconomowoc, Wis., and a sister in Indiana, who have been telegraphed and are expected to arrive in time to attend the funeral, which will be held in the Baptist church on Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, Rev. Geo. Jones delivering the sermon. Interment will be made in the Akron cemetery. To the aged and afflicted husband the loss of his kind and loving helpmate through life comes as a severe blow, and to hint and the sorrowing children goes out the sympathy of the community.
