Description	:	Abraham B. Burkett, son of Joe and Emaline Burkett, was born August 20, 1864, at Chatham, Virginia, and passed away at his home near Angus, Nebraska, January 2, 1951, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 8 days. When a young boy, he became a member of the Methodist church. In 1906, he and his brother Henry came to Nebraska and started farming on the Felton farm. In 1910 he moved to Oak and later to Edgar. On May 31, 1911, Mr. Burkett was united in marriage to Martelia Dillman. They later moved to the farm home where he passed away. To this union were born two children, Roy and Elizabeth. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and his two children; a son-in-law, Clair Wehrman; a daughter-in-law, Mildred Burkett; two grandchildren, Phyllis Burkett and Sharon Wehrman, three sisters, Cora Bicknell of Oak, Kate Patrick of Marion, Virginia, and Alice Wickersham of Long Beach, California; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Angus Church of Christ as 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, January 4, 1951. Don DeBord was in charge. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
