Ohio [sic] May 20, 1868 and passed away at his home in Mt. Etna, Iowa, Friday, July 29th, of a heart attack. He was 81 years, 2 months, and 9 days of age. The family moved to Adams county when Abe was one year and six months old an settled on the farm, where he lived practically all of his life. March 1st of this year he sold his farm and moved to Mt. Read More	Adams County Free Press Corning, Iowa August 4, 1949 ABRAHAM ALLISON Abraham Allison, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Allison was born in Pennsylvania. Ohio [sic] May 20, 1868 and passed away at his home in Mt. Etna, Iowa, Friday, July 29th, of a heart attack. He was 81 years, 2 months, and 9 days of age. The family moved to Adams county when Abe was one year and six months old an settled on the farm, where he lived practically all of his life. March 1st of this year he sold his farm and moved to Mt. Etna. He was married to Eldora Kingery, daughter of David and Sarah Jane Kingery, February 9, 1892 near Mt. Etna, Iowa. To this union three daughters were born, Edna Boswell and Lela Devore of Corning, Iowa, and Jennie McVay of Long Beach, California. He confessed Christ as his Savior in early life and was baptized in the Christian faith. He was a devoted husband and father, honest and upright in all of his dealings. He is survived by his widow and three daughters, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Abe was the last of nine children. He also leaves to mourn his loss a host of relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Oliver L. Davison in the Church of the Brethren, Mt. Etna, Iowa, Monday afternoon, August 1, at 3 p.m. Music was by Charles Johnston, Mrs. John Dotson, Mrs. Walton Boswell, accompanied by Anita Rogers. Pall bearers were Everett Kingery, Wilbur Allison, Darrel Allison, Leo Angus, Albert Kingery, and Ray Allison. Interment was made in Mt. Etna cemetery.
