Etna and vicinity is mourned with the death of James Allison. Etna Methodist Episcopal church conducted by Rev. Harry K. Rogers. Burial was in the Baptist cemetery. James Allison, son of Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Allison was born in Pennsylvania, September 15, 1848 and passed away at his home in Mt. Etna, Iowa, June 6, 1938, at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 21 days. He came to Iowa in 1869 and lived on a farm near Mt. Etna until last year when they moved to Mt. Etna. He was married to Anna McCune January 27, 1872 and to this union four children were born, two of whom, with his widow, still survive. The living children are Ira, at home and Fred of Mt. Etna. One child died in infancy and Nora, wife of Charles Thompson, died a number of years ago. He is also survived by two brothers, Abe and Will. Two brothers, Tom and Andy, and one sister, Mary Ramsey, preceded him in death. Mr. Allison had been a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge for a number of years.
