From the Niobrara Tribune Thursday, October 18, 1934: Miss Ada Cash, half-sister of Robert and Joe Cash, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning at the C O Mitchell home in Wayne. OBITUARY Niobrara Tribune October 25, 1934: "Ada Virginia Cash was born in Cold Springs, NY, September 1, 1864 and passed to her eternal reward October 17, 1934, at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 16 days. Miss Cash came to Nebraska in 1880 with her parents, Mr and Mrs Reuben Cash. She received her education in the public schools of New York and joined the Episcopal church there in early childhood. She was always active in church work until her health failed. For several years she worked with the Salvation Army in Omaha and spent happy hours in His service. For the past fourteen years Miss Cash made her home with her sister, Mrs Claude Mitchell and found contentment in a quiet unassuming life. Her world centered about her relatives and intimate friends. She leaves to mourn her loss three brothers: Robert and Joseph of Niobrara, Walter of Okanogan, WA, two sisters Mrs. Henry Gadow of Lathrop, CA and Mrs. Claude O Mitchell of Wayne, NE. May her soul rest in His care. The following poem was a favorite of Miss Cash and was kept in her Bible: WHEN I GO HOME A little while and then the summer day, When I go home. 'Tis lonesome winter now, but t'will be May When I go home, Beyond the gloom of moor and fen I see The welcome warm of those who wait for me. Work ceases not in sunshine or shower Till I go home. But in the stillness of the twilight hour I dream of home. And when the night wind moans across the world, I feel no dread of dark not chill of cold. All will be well and all be happiness When I go home. The wanderings all o'er and loneliness When I go home. There will be light at eventide for me--The light that never was on land or sea. (From British Weekly). Funeral services were held at the Mitchell home in Wayne at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Gramly in charge. A large number of friends and relatives were present and the brief services were beautiful and impressive. Miss Thalia Gramly sang two solos, favorites of Miss Cash. Funeral services were held at the Episcopal church in Niobrara at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Gramly in charge. The body was laid to rest in L'Eau Qui Court cemetery. The tribune extends sympathy to the bereaved family."
