Description	:	Ada Grace Steel, 95 years of age, of Greeley, Colorado (formerly of Holdrege, Nebraska) passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Sterling House of Greeley at Greeley. She was born on February 28, 1915 at Atlanta, Nebraska the seventh of thirteen children of Sidney W. and Mertie L (Johnston) Borden. Ada graduated with Normal School Training from Holdrege High School with The Class of 1932 and then briefly taught country school. She was born on February 28, 1915 at Atlanta, Nebraska the seventh of thirteen children of Sidney W. and Mertie L (Johnston) Borden. Ada graduated with Normal School Training from Holdrege High School with The Class of 1932 and then briefly taught country school. She later worked in retail sales at the Ben Franklin store in Holdrege. On November 24, 1935, she was united in marriage to Carl Ralph Martin Steel in Holdrege and to this union two sons were born: Larry and Willis. The family made their home in Holdrege. After Carl passed away on May 29, 2001, Ada moved to Greeley to be closer to her family. Ada enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She was a talented seamstress making her own graduation dress, her wedding gown and beautiful square dance outfits for her and her husband. During her lifetime she enjoyed many activities including reading, square dancing, roller skating and time at the lake. She also enjoyed decorating special birthday cakes for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, twelve brothers and sisters, her husband, Carl, son, Willis, and a great-granddaughter. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Larry E. Steel and his wife, Sheryl of Greeley; daughter-in-law, Coralyn Steel of Estes Park, Colorado; five grandchildren: Bill Steel and his wife, Pam of Bryan, Ohio, Barb Guthrie and her husband, Mike of Richmond, Texas, Jennifer Schrawyer and her husband, Kirk of Alliance, Nebraska, Julie Bigge and her husband, Josh of Fort Collins, Colorado, Jessica Wickam and her husband, Adam of Windsor, Colorado; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
