Anstey, prominent Massena stockman, died this morning at 10:45 at the Atlantic hospital, where she had been a patient for the last week. Death resulted from a heart ailment. ANSTEY OF MASSENA DIES IN HOSPITAL HERE Massena, Ia., May 8 - (Special) - Mrs. Ada Louise Anstey, 78, wife of George J. Anstey, prominent Massena stockman, died this morning at 10:45 at the Atlantic hospital, where she had been a patient for the last week. Death resulted from a heart ailment. Mrs. Anstey was born April 3, 1862 in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Alway, and was married to Mr. Anstey at Des Moines November 2, 1881. They had resided here since that time. Surviving besides the husband are eight children, Mrs. J. T. Kordick of Des Moines, Mrs. M. E. Dunn of Roseville, California, John, Lloyd R., Charles L., George J. Jr., Mrs. H. J. Spies, and Miss Nellie Anstey, all of Massena; one brother, James Alway of Brantford, Ontario, Canada; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Austin of Paris, Ontario, Canada and Mrs. Minnie McKenzie of Simcoe, Ontario, Canada; 42 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Jennings of Elliott, died August 14, 1937 and another daughter, Ada Louise, died when she was eight months old, while a son, George W., died at the age of three months. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Timothy's Catholic church at Reno, the Rev. D. D. Dower officiating. Burial will be in the Reno Catholic cemetery. Atlantic News Telegraph May 12, 1940 Page 4 Anstey Rites Massena, Ia., May 13 - (Special) - Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Reno Catholic church with the Rev. D. D. Dower, pastor, as celebrant; Rev. P. A. Flavin of Massena, sub-deacon, and Rev. M. J. O'Connor of Wiota as master of ceremonies. Monsignor F. McManus of Council Bluffs, long time friend of the family and formerly pastor of the family church, also attended the requiem high mass for Mrs. Anstey. The requiem mass was sung by Mrs. Joe Kopp of Anita. Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. A. J. Cruise, Miss Olive Lewis, and Miss Bernice Cullen. Pallbearers were six grandsons of the deceased, Paul J. and George J. Kordick of Des Moines; Gregory G. Jennings of Dedham, Virgin C. Spies, George C. Anstey, and Eugene E. Anstey, all of Massena. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
