She was born in Rockbridge County on Aug. 31, 1899, a daughter of Ceasarea David and Sarah McCormick Palmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Preston McFaddin. Surviving are four daughters, Ruth Agnes Deacon and Virginia Belle Conner, both of Lexington, Cathern Louise Wiseman of Roanoke and Ada Marie Wiginton of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Hunter Preston of Medway, Ohio, and Ray Daniel McFaddin of Natural Bridge; one sister, Susie Buchanan of Staunton; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
