The young people are well and favorably known in Silver Creek. The bride is the daughter of G. W. Cremeen and has lived here from childhood and is one of the most popular young ladies in the village. The groom is the son of F. E. Layton and he also has grown to manhood here and has a host of friends. He is at present engaged with the Bell Telephone Co. The Layton's will commence housekeeping at once at the corner of Second and Chestnut streets. Their many friends wish for them a happy wedded life. From the Silver Creek Sand, Silver Creek, Nebraska, Friday, January 3rd, 1913 COMMUNITY SHOCKED BY DEATH OF YOUNG WOMAN Silver Creek and community was shocked Tuesday to learn of the death of Mrs. Cecil Layton, although they knew she had been ill for several months. They were hopeful that she might be able to overcome her illness, but she passed away in spite of all that loving relatives and friends could do for her. Adina Belle Cremeen, daughter of George and Flora Cremeen, was born in Polk County, Nebraska, July 14, 1891 and died at Columbus, Nebraska, April 30, 1935 at the age of 43 years, 9 months and 16 days. She grew to girlhood in the Silver Creek community, and graduated from the Silver Creek High School with the class of 1910. In 1913 she was united in marriage to Cecil Layton of Silver Creek and to this union were born two boys, Francis and George. The family has resided in the community of Clarks and Silver Creek since 1913, with the exception of one year which was spent at Bristow, Nebraska. Adina accepted the faith as a young girl and has proven it always by living it. No one ever gave more willingly or unselfishly to any good cause. Her keen interest and helpful spirit in solving other's problems won her a host of friends. As a sufferer, her faith, cheerfulness and meekness was beyond understanding, and surely many other souls have been strengthened by her example. She was unusually devoted to her husband and boys, who survive her. She also leaves behind, her father, George Cremeen, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Miller, Mrs. C. R. Frizzell and Mrs. Willard Carter, all of Silver Creek, also three brothers Henry Cremeen of Arcadia, Nebraska; Walter Cremeen of Clarks and Chancey Cremeen of Silver Creek; three step-sisters, Mrs. Thorvaldson of Spanish Forks, Utah; Mrs. E. S. Kaminski, of Spalding; and Mrs. Everett Reece, of Shelby, also a step brother Hugo DeBere of Silver Creek, and there are a large number of other relatives and many friends who will miss her smile and cheer. Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Silver Creek at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon, and were conducted by Rev. Hendrickson of Berwyn. Interment was at the Silver Creek Cemetery.
