From the Osceola Record, Osceola, Nebraska, Thursday, December 21, 1907 WALTER CREMEEN BURIED AT SILVER CREEK THURSDAY Walter Thomas Cremeen, 71, passed away Tuesday, February 26, at Clarks, Nebraska after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Clarks last Thursday with interment in the Silver Creek Cemetery. Survivors include his wife and two sons, Walter Jr., of Grand Island and Lawrence of Boulder, Colorado; two brothers, Henry of Ord and Chauncey of Osceola and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Miller of Osceola, Mrs. Mable Carter and Mrs. Roy Frizzell of Silver Creek. From the Osceola Record, Osceola, Nebraska, Thursday, March 7th, 1957 WALTER CREMEEN DIES AT CLARKS Walter Thomas Cremeen, 71, prominent Clarks resident passed away at his home in Clarks February 26. Funeral services were held on the 28th at the Congregational Church in Clarks with Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Silver Creek Cemetery. The son of George and Flora Cremeen, he was born September 26, 1885. He grew to manhood in Polk County, Nebraska, and on December 21, 1907 was united in marriage to Mable Sophia Pierson. To this union four children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Cremeen spent a number of years farming in Valley County, Nebraska. In 1913 they moved near Silver Creek. Except for two years spent in California they had lived in and around Clarks since 1913. Mr. Cremeen was a good neighbor, a loving husband and father and won for himself a large circle of friends. The last few years he struggled with an ailing illness which he bore with much courage. Surviving him are his beloved wife and two sons, Lawrence of Boulder, Colorado and Walter of Grand Island, Nebraska, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller of Osceola, Mrs. Mabel Carter and Mrs. Clara Frizzell of Silver Creek, two brothers, Henry of Ord and Chauncey of Osceola, three grandsons, and two granddaughters and a number of more distant relatives and many friends.
