Riglin, eldest daughter of Charles and Sophia Riglin, was born in Montgomery county, Pennsylvania, February 2, 1856, and passed to the Home Above from her late residence in Fairmont, Nebraska, Tuesday morning, April 21, 1931, at 8:40 o'clock; aged seventy-five years, two months and nineteen days. Riglin, eldest daughter of Charles and Sophia Riglin, was born in Montgomery county, Pennsylvania, February 2, 1856, and passed to the Home Above from her late residence in Fairmont, Nebraska, Tuesday morning, April 21, 1931, at 8:40 o'clock; aged seventy-five years, two months and nineteen days. When about twelve years of age her parents moved to Whiteside county, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Michael H. Shoemaker, May 9, 1874, near Malvern, Illinois, and for about five years they lived near Linden, Illinois until in February, 1879, they came to Nebraska and settled two miles east of Fairmont, and on this country home they lived for nearly forty years, until February 6, 1917, when they moved to their present home in Fairmont. To this union six children were born: Mrs. W.E. Black and Charles R. Shoemaker of Fairmont; Mrs. C.W. Rudisil and Alvin R. Shoemaker of Broadwater, Nebraska; Zola R. Shoemaker at home, and Harry R. Shoemaker who died in infancy. Besides her husband and children, she leaves one sister, three brothers and thirteen grandchildren. The names of the grandchildren are: Arlo Shoemaker and Ruth Black of Fairmont; Everett, Claude and Kennon Rudisil of Lincoln; Maynard Rudisil of Broadwater, Ralph, George, Dale, Evalyn, Douglas, Anna Marie and James Shoemaker all of Broadwater, Nebraska. Mrs. Shoemaker united with the Presbyterian church of Fairmont, May 16, 1894, of which she remained a faithful and devoted member and regular attendant until failing health confined her at home. She was a charter member of the Sunset Club, which she attended when her health permitted. If she had lived until May 9th, she would have been married fifty-seven years. Her health began to fail when she was stricken on June 19, 1928, since which time she has been an invalid, although able at times to take short auto rides and make calls. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, April 23, from her late home, by her pastor, Rev. W.F. Perry, D.D., and her body was laid to rest in the Fairmont cemetery to await the Resurrection morn. The following were present from out of town: Alvin R. Shoemaker, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Rudisil and son Maynard of Broadwater; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Rudisil, Kennon Rudisil and Mrs. B.M. Kemp of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Fike of Valpraiso, Nebr.; Hugh Gibson and daughter, Mrs. Charles Wilson of Edison, Nebr.; Mrs. W.A. Terry and Mrs. Fred Johnson of Hastings, Neb.; Mrs. F.M. Thompson of Hansen, Nebraska.
