She departed this life on Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 90 years. Adelaide grew up in Ruskin, Nebraska. She departed this life on Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 90 years. Adelaide grew up in Ruskin, Nebraska. Adelaide attended school at Ruskin and graduated from Ruskin High School. On February 10, 1945 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Jacobsen at Belleville, Kansas. This union was blessed with birth of two daughters, La Vona and Wonda. Adelaide held various jobs while living in Superior including working at the Greenhouse and in earlier years she worked for Armour's Processing. Adelaide was a member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary and had been a Lydia Circle member since 1954. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Superior. In her spare time Adelaide enjoyed doing craft work which included crocheting and knitting, she made hats, hot pads and endless projects which she loving gave away to friends and family. Adelaide was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert on December 17, 1996, daughters La Vona Fulton and Wonda Harmon, an infant sister, and her brother, Emil "Sonny" Jensen. Survivors include eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held this Wednesday 11:00 AM, January 30, 2008 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior. Pastor David Sherwood will be officiating. Burial will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior. Williams Funeral Home of Superior, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
