Description	:	Adele A. (Gehring) DeConnick (1913 - 1995) Adele A. DeConnick was born October 20, 1913 the daughter of William and Hertha Schade Gehring. She died on Thursday, July 20, 1995 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of eighty-one years. She was born on the family farm, south of Charter Oak, Iowa and received her education at a rural school near her home. (Gehring) DeConnick (1913 - 1995) Adele A. DeConnick was born October 20, 1913 the daughter of William and Hertha Schade Gehring. She died on Thursday, July 20, 1995 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of eighty-one years. She was born on the family farm, south of Charter Oak, Iowa and received her education at a rural school near her home. On February 11, 1948, Adele was united in marriage to Joseph DeConnick at a Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple settled in Early, Iowa, where they lived for three years before moving to a farm south of Denison and retiring to Denison in 1972. Adele was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and the Farm Bureau. She was a very loving wife and caring mother and grandmother who was a very gracious and hard working lady. She enjoyed socializing in a game of cards, bowling, dancing and polka music. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William L. and Victor Gehring, two sisters, Arlene Sovinski and Lucille Gehring. Survivors include her husband, Joseph of Denison; one daughter, Beverly Stockdale and her husband, Robert of Riverton, Wyoming; four grandchildren, Becky Ann Clark and her husband, Jahn; Gregg West all of Loveland, Colorado; Marty West and his wife, Pamela of Springfield, Missouri, Dirk West of Omaha; eight great-grandchildren, Shawn West of Omaha; Cheryl West, Marty Jo West, both of Avoca; Nicole West, Elisha West, Tyler West all of Omaha; Joseph West of Springfield, Missouri, Jahn Mark Clark of Loveland, Colorado; one brother, Louis Gehring and his wife, Darlene of Denison and three sisters-in-law, Leona Gehring of Denison; Anna Marie Ecklund of Gretna, Nebraska and Amelia Welendorf of Manning, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 24, 1995 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa with Rev. Kurt Kaiser and Rev. Philip E. Bloch officiating the service and grave side rites held at the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig, Iowa. Karen Kahl provided the organ accompaniment for soloist, Henry Henningsen singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me" and congregational hymn "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". Honorary pallbearers were: Phyllis Hagge, Alice Christiansen, Marcia Bretey and Marilyn Muhlbauer. Pallbearers were: Norman Friedericksen, William B. Gehring, Dave Muhlbauer, Thomas Christiansen, Mike Vogt and Shurrell Savery. The family invited everyone in attendance at the service to join them for lunch at the church, served by the Ladies Aid.
