In the 1880 census revealed that Ada was three years old, and living with her parents, George and Mollie Sterling in Crisfield, Somerset, Maryland. George listed his occupation as a seaman. Ada had a sister Roxie F. Sterling, age 4 Addie became the bride of Ernest Planter Sterling in a wedding ceremony on 10 Jul 1895 in Somerset Co., Maryland. From this union 3 children were born: David W Sterling 1900, he died as a baby or very young; Pauline J Sterling 1903–1989, she married James Lloyd Truitt; and Bernice B Sterling 1906–1998 who married Clarence Julian Sessions. The 1900 census found Addie and Ernest living in Asbury, Somerset, Maryland. They had been married 3 years and Addie had given birth to 2 babies. One had lived he was a 2 month old baby boy, David W Sterling. Ernest was a Wholesale Grocery man. They had purchased and paid for their home. In the 1910 census Addie and Ernest was still selling wholesale groceries Their home was free of a mortage, and they had two little girls, Pauline, age 7, and Bernice, age 4. The census revealed that 2 of their children were dead, therefore, sadly, little David had passed away. The 1920 census disclosed several changes. The United States is in the depth of the Great Depression. Addie and Ernest home has been mortgaged and Ernest is now a farmer. Pauline and Bernice are teenagers and attending school. Ernest Sterling died in a Baltimore,Maryland hospital on September 3, 1926. This was a very sad day for Addie and the girls. Their beloved father and husband was buried in the Asbury Cemetery, Crisfield, Somerset County, Maryland. After the death of Ernest Sterling and before the 1930 census was enumerated Addie married Gordon E. Milbourne, a wealthy and prominent seafood dealer. The 1930 census found Addie married to Gordon E. Milbourne. Her new home was 381 Chesapeake Avenue in Asbury, Somerset, Maryland, and was valued at the fabulas price of $6,000.00. Two of Gorden's daughters were living at home. Ruth M Milbourne 24 was working in as an operator in a garment factory, and Shirley F Milbourne 8 was attending school. Some time before 1935 Addie and Gorden relocated to Lawsonia Road Route 1 in Lawsonia, Somerset, Maryland. They were still living in the same house when the 1940 census was enumerated, and Shirley was still living with them. On 5 March 1950 Gordon E. Milbourne passed away at his home in Crisfield, Somerset, Maryland. He "Rests at Peace" with many of his family members at the Asbury Cemetery, Crisfield, Somerset County, Maryland. Three years later, on 1 SEP 1953, Addie passed away in, Crisfield, Somerset County, Maryland. She also Rests at Peace" in the Asbury Cemetery.
