Description	:	ADOLPH KRIEG Adolph August Krieg, son of Leopold and Catherine Krieg was born in Burlington, Iowa Dec. 23, 1865, and passed away at the Ottumwa hospital Dec. 26, 1947, aged 82 years and 3 days. He had been a resident of Douds for the past 60 years except for ten years in Nebraska and Creston, Iowa. He was employed in the coal mines until 1925 when he was injured by a fall of slate which left him a cripple. He was a member of the Methodist church. He was one of a family of 12 children. Read More	ADOLPH KRIEG Adolph August Krieg, son of Leopold and Catherine Krieg was born in Burlington, Iowa Dec. 23, 1865, and passed away at the Ottumwa hospital Dec. 26, 1947, aged 82 years and 3 days. He had been a resident of Douds for the past 60 years except for ten years in Nebraska and Creston, Iowa. His father, mother, three sisters and eight brothers, all preceded him in death. He was married to Ava Virginia Taylor Dec. 17, 1887. He is survived by his aged wife, several nieces and nephews. He was especially fond of his great nephew, Ivan Ratcliff, who has been his guardian the past three years. He was of a kind and loving disposition. During his last illness, although suffering intensely he repeatedly thanked his nurses and all for their kindness, although he prayed to go, he wanted to live until his 60th wedding anniversary, which wish was fulfilled.
