ADOLPH KRIEG Ava Virginia Taylor, daughter of Israel and Eliza Taylor, was born near Leando, June 18, 1865, and died August 19, at the age of 85 years, two months and one day, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Roy Ratcliff, where she had made her home the past three years. ADOLPH KRIEG Ava Virginia Taylor, daughter of Israel and Eliza Taylor, was born near Leando, June 18, 1865, and died August 19, at the age of 85 years, two months and one day, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Roy Ratcliff, where she had made her home the past three years. Although in failing health, the past six months, she had been seriously ill only one week. When two years of age, she moved with her parents to Douds. She was the last of a family of six. The greater part of her life she had lived in the Douds community, with the exception of a few years shortly after her marriage, when she and her husband lived in Plattsmouth, Nebr., and Creston, Iowa. Mrs. Krieg united with the Methodist church in Douds in August of 1914. She was married to Adolph A. Krieg, December 7, 1887. Mrs. Krieg was preceded in death by her husband, her father and mother, four sisters and one brother. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Pedrick funeral home in Douds, Monday afternoon, at two o'clock. The Rev. Robert G. Farr officiated. Interment was made in the Zion Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were John Edwards, B.C. Lawson, W.A. Carson, S.A. Barker, W.J. Samuels and O.W. Sanford. Source: Van Buren Co.
