Description	:	Adolph Bernard was born August 14, 1863, in Alsace-Lorraine, France. In 1886, when 23 years of age, he came to the United States and made his home in Illinois until 1895, when he came to Iowa, settling on a farm near Woolstock, where he remained for eighteen years. On the 23rd of May 1895, Mr. Bernard was united in marriage with Miss Caroline Marshall. To this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters, all of whom are living. In 1886, when 23 years of age, he came to the United States and made his home in Illinois until 1895, when he came to Iowa, settling on a farm near Woolstock, where he remained for eighteen years. On the 23rd of May 1895, Mr. Bernard was united in marriage with Miss Caroline Marshall. To this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters, all of whom are living. They are: Mabel, George, Jessie, Harry and Wayne. All of them reside at home with their mother on the farm east of Eagle Grove, which Mr. Bernard bought seven years ago for the family home. For the past two years Mr. Bernard had not been in good health, and for the last five months he had been in very poor health which resulted in his death Friday evening, June 4, 1920. He passed away at the age of 56 years, 9 months and 20 days. When Mr. Bernard was fourteen years old, he was confirmed in the French Lutheran church and was a faithful member of the same till his death. Those who mourn his death are his wife and children, his aged father, three brothers and a sister who live in France, and a brother living between Woolstock and Webster City. Mr. Bernard has gone from our sight but awaits the coming of wife and children and friends in the better world. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at his late home and at the French Lutheran church east of Woolstock, conducted by the Rev. Chas. H. Seward of the Methodist church. Interment was in the cemetery beside the church he helped to build and where he worshipped for many years. Card of Thanks We wish to thank the K. Y. N. club, M. E. ladies. M. E.
