Description	:	Agnes Dunlop was born in February 1845 in Ayrshire, Scotland. She immigrated to the US with her family when she was a child. The 1901 Canada census indicates the immigration took place in 1854. (Note: the family appears in the 1855 Massachusetts State Census as living in Topsfield, Essex, MA prior to their settlement in Ontario). Agnes was the fifth of seven children born to John Dunlop (1811- 1880) and Margaret Wilson Gibson (1809-1867). The 1861 census indicates the family settled in Amaranth, Dufferin, Ontario. Agnes married Charles Kinsley (1841-1917) on March 31, 1874 in Amaranth, Ontario. The couple had one child- Annie Garnett Kinsley (1876-1948). The 1881 Census records indicate that another child named James Batch Kinsley (b.1870 in England) lived with them. It is unclear the relationship of the child to Charles. Agnes died in October 1925. She is buried in the Shelburne Cemetery with her husband Charles Kinsley. Their daughter Annie Garnett (Braiden) is buried in the same cemetery with her husband and four of their children. Shelburne Economist- November 5, 1925, Mrs. Chas. Kinsley On Monday, October 26th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. A. Braiden, lot 26, con. 3, Amaranth, the death took place of another of the old residents of this section, in the person of Agnes Dunlop, widow of the late Charles Kinsley. Deceased, who was 80 years of age, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, being the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Dunlop. She came to Canada with her parents about 65 years ago, the family settling in Amaranth township. One son, James, was killed when serving as an officer in the American Civil War. The other son, John, died in Amaranth. Three daughters also died in Amaranth - Mrs. Thos. Currie, Mrs. Jas. Harrison, Mrs. Wm. Ferguson. Mrs. Kinsley was the last surviving member of the Dunlop family. She was married in Amaranth township to the late Charles Kinsley, and they farmed in Amaranth township until 1901, when they retired to Shelburne. Mrs. Kinsley had for several years been living with her only daughter, Mrs. Braiden. The funeral is to take place from the Braiden residence, Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 28th, at 2 o'clock, to Shelburne cemetery.
